Hello Gorgeous!

It's Summer--What do I Wear (Without Body Shaming Myself)?

It's Summer--What do I Wear (Without Body Shaming Myself)?

Summer is here, and with it comes sunshine, iced drinks, longer days.....and, for many of us, a familiar wave of anxiety about what to wear when it's hot outside. If you've ever stared into your closet and thought, "I want to be comfortable, cute, but I don't feel confident showing my body...." YOU ARE NOT ALONE! We all have our areas of self-conscious thoughts.

Let's make this summer different! Let's wear what feels good without letting body shame call the shots!

Start with this: YOUR body is NOT a Problem. Your body doesn't need to shrink, hide, or change to "earn" a spot at the beach, pool, BBQ or patio brunch. It's Summer. It's hot. And you deserve to be comfortable, cool, and confident just as you are.

Body positivity isn't about always loving every inch of yourself--it's about respecting your body enough to not punish it and allowing it to take up space in the heat, in style, in joy.

SO....What Should You Wear?

The short answer? Whatever makes you feel like yourself! But here are a few gentle, practical ideas if you're trying to strike that balance between comfort and confidence.

  1. Flowy Everything: Maxi Dresses, tiered skirts, wide leg linen pants, lightweight fabrics that move with you can feel freeing and flatteringBoho Style Womens sleeveless tank top with a collared neckline, button front and colorful floral patchwork and beige pattern that is tiered.
  2. Sleeveless is NOT a sin: Arms are just arms. They do amazing things like hug people, carry groceries and dance. You're allowed to wear tank tops or sleeveless dresses without feeling like you have to earn it. Denim Romper with leopard print, pleated detailing and tie front v neck and side pockets, adorable summer outfit
  3. Swimsuit Tip: Comfort OVER Comparison: Your beachwear doesn't;t have to be revealing or modest--just comfortable. Rash guards, high waisted bottoms, one-pieces, or bold bikinis--your suit should suit you! Remember, bodies in swimsuits are just bodies in swimsuits.
  4. Layer Lightly: If you like coverage, opt for breezy kimonos, cropped button-downs, or mesh shrugs. They add style without overheating and can help you feel more "put together."

Talk to Yourself the Way You'd Talk to a Friend Would you ever tell your best friend she's too big for shorts or doesn't deserve to wear a tank top? Of course not! So don't say it to yourself either. You deserve kindness, comfort and joy this summer and every season after.

FINAL THOUGHT: WEAR THE SHORTS Wear the shorts! Wear the dress! Wear the swimsuit! The real summer glow-up is caring less about hiding your body and more about living your life. Let your body feel the sun. Let your heart feel free. And if nothing else--Wear the dang shorts! Palm Cove lightweight wide leg elastic waist with drawstring tie pant in cream and green with palm leaf patterns perfect vacation vibes
